One day after his success in making his fourth assist of the season, during Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Manchester City, Andy Robertson started a challenge with his teammate, Trent Alexander Arnold
Scotland’s captain posted a short video, via "Twitter", smiling, with a comment saying "I made more goals than Trent Arnold," to which his colleague replied, "I'll wait for you next May."
The relationship between this defensive duo is witnessing a healthy competition, in creating more opportunities for the strikers, which gives Liverpool more strength.
Robertson, told Liverpool's official website:
"Trent and I achieved a set of big numbers last season in terms of contributing to goals and other things ... but it was more than that,"
"In the defensive side, we were also very good, and this season we tried to do the same ... We are only trying to give our best in every game, despite the difficulty of that."
Since August 2018, the two players have jointly produced 30 goals in the league, each with 15 goals.
Robertson praised the progress made by Arnold, and he said:
"Trent is 21 years old, and he performs amazingly, and I hope he keeps it…We hope the team will help him maintain his form, because we are achieving good results so far, and there is trust between the players."
The duo received more praise from former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch
"Some Trent passes match the quality of the midfielders ... I played with Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso, he’s no less than the two," said Crouch.
"By what they are doing with Liverpool, Robertson and Arnold are reformulating the role of the full-back," he concluded.
And In other news, a medical staff from Liverpool will arrive tomorrow afternoon to check on the Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, at his country's national camp in Alexandria
The time did not allow the Reds medical staff to examine Salah well, as he joined Egypt quickly, after the match at Anfield, which Liverpool won (3-1), The coaching staff of egypt has announced earlier today that the player will not participate in the Kenya and Comoros games due to the injury.
