Mane: I'm far behind Messi and Ronaldo

Liverpool striker Sadio Mane has admitted he is still behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Despite being on the list of 30 players to win the “Ballon D’or” this year, Mane Thinks he has not yet reached the quality of the duo.

Mane said in a statement to "L'Equipe": "Messi and Ronaldo are monsters of the game; I see that I am still very far from them, and as I said I will do my best to approach them a bit"

"One of my childhood dreams is to win the Ballon d'Or, and the fact that I am among the candidates this year is the fruit of my long-standing work, but in the end, I give all I have for collective titles in the first place."

He continued: "If I succeed in excellence away from collective titles, of course it will be my dream to win the Ballon d’or, and when you achieve a dream, it is exceptional, and all the Senegalese people, friends and family will feel happy, and I will be very happy as well."

"I have already said that one of the additional incentives for me to find African myths like Eto’o and Drogba talking about me, this is always nice"

Mane was crowned last season's Golden Boot as the top scorer in the Premier League with Mohamed Salah and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

“I think I am humble enough, but I want to be at the summit, I have my own perception of things that make my surrounding feel proud” Mane added.
