Lionel Messi, Barcelona legend, admitted his disappointment after seeing Senegalese Sadio Mane, the Liverpool star, fourth in the Ballon D'Or classification for the best player in the world.
As known, Messi won the sixth golden ball in his career, while Virgil Van Dijk came second, and Cristiano Ronaldo third, while Mane came in fourth, before his colleague Mohamed Salah in Fifth.
After Messi revealed that he had voted for Mane to win "the Best" award earlier this year, the Barcelona captain said he hoped the Senegalese star would have a better ranking.
"It is a shame to see Mane in fourth place, but I think there were a lot of great players this year, which is why it was difficult to choose," Messi told "Canal+".
"Mane had a great year, the whole of Liverpool was excellent too, which is why I chose him,"
"I repeat, there were a lot of great players this year, so the selection was hard," he concluded.
